Poe, I only added this one and altered only the last line! I didn't get rid of the other poem! I wouldn't since it is the heartfelt one. Thank you for reading the second version, too!

I enjoyed this alternative version as well ... using "froward" gives it more of a biblical overtone given you're the cypress ...

Ah! Thanks for telling me! I chose froward because this word was defined as archaic but was not aware of the biblical overtone. For me it sounded more serious and nice than stubborn :-). Thank YOU for the insightful comment, LSP!

Which might be true as well :-). Shallow rooted trees don't need deep roots, they cling to the underground and hold fast.
