I'm Getting There.
I linger with those memories,
Vibrating my soul and conscious.
I can feel those tears attempt to make there way,
But I've kept my eyes closed for far too long.
I hide my slivers of happiness and hope,
Making myself believe I don't deserve.
I view the past,
Every time my eyes open,
I let it hold me back.
Let it consume my thoughts,
Waking or sleeping.
I don't see a path with smiles and laughs.
Viewing the future,
My haunting memories black the light desperately flickering.
Yet my eyes aren't sewed and forever closed,
I can feel the warmth radiating miles away.
