Circus of Life
Step right up, step right up!
The ring master calls,
Terrifying beast inside!
This caged animal is horrific,
No tiger, no lion, a predator deadlier
I watch in awe, as it begins its tricks
A show stopper, manipulating meddler
Struggling, the juggler’s juggling
But I only have eyes for the beast
A magnificent creature with wings
Awe inspiring, a teacher, of all things
Under a spell I reach up gently
To the cage, to the lock, intently
Then I saw the beast’s teeth,
And his eyes that cause only grief
I shrink away, as the serpent rears
The demon jeers, and I’ve been tricked
The devil steps from his cage, set free
Who is to blame, my shame, it was me
