Mirrored glass
Theres so much time between us
memories marked like mirrored glass
the useless little stories
twist and bend the shattered past
promises we couldn't keep
built momentary fire
silver tongues know talk is cheap
when fabrication fuels desire
every bite was empty
I made the taste inside my head
Tried to fill what I was missing
painted notions of you instead
Now I'm calling this for what it is
I place no blame and claim no debt
I've stopped to count my losses
there's no case for the time I've bled
words could never give a meaning
to an appetite I cant suppress
I traced it back to the beginning
and drug myself back through the rest
I'll let you know just what I found:
A raging storm that forms
from clouds without a silver lining
make no rain but only noise
and I'm bone dry since you passed by me
memories marked like mirrored glass
the useless little stories
twist and bend the shattered past
promises we couldn't keep
built momentary fire
silver tongues know talk is cheap
when fabrication fuels desire
every bite was empty
I made the taste inside my head
Tried to fill what I was missing
painted notions of you instead
Now I'm calling this for what it is
I place no blame and claim no debt
I've stopped to count my losses
there's no case for the time I've bled
words could never give a meaning
to an appetite I cant suppress
I traced it back to the beginning
and drug myself back through the rest
I'll let you know just what I found:
A raging storm that forms
from clouds without a silver lining
make no rain but only noise
and I'm bone dry since you passed by me
