Opposites Attract
She was made of fire, he was made of ice
She played the game, he payed the price
For every ounce of love there was a pound of hate
Every star in the sky could predict their fate
He came from a place devoid of emotion
Where everyday was the same without commotion
He went through life as a shadow of his own making
Hiding his giving heart with a mind incapable of taking
She was born in spring but smelled of summer
With flowers in her hair and stars in her laughter
A multitude of emotions fighting for a place
She holds her head high, though lacking proper grace
She came from the country, he came from the hills
He came seeking honey, she came seeking thrills
He carefully saves money, she's swimming in bills
She holds her hands out steady, he takes them without frills
Every sip of air she breathes is heavy with lust
He can't see past his own faults to lend her any trust
As the sun shone his eye upon the lovers bed
Never a word uttered, nor a need to be said
The sinewy lines he stretched over her
Gave no signal of the trials they endured
Lifting each other up to heights that were unknown
With tangled limbs they sang a song of coming home
