That one day

Everything was fine and dandy,
Everyone was happy and joyful,
With high hopes and bright futures,
Until that one day.

That one day that everyone never knew was coming,
Where we were stripped of our rights,
Valuables stolen by uniforms,
And thrown into cells.

That one day that destroyed everyone,
And crushed their dreams into shattered pieces,
Waiting to be picked up.

Guilty by association,
Released on the box.
Punished for something I didn't do,
Forced to no contact,
They took her from me,
Why am I being punished?

Ever since that one day,
Everything is crushing and painful,
Everyone is depressed and dead,
With hopes this will all be over,
And everything will go back to normal.

That one day makes me think,
Why did that one day have to come?
And ruin everything?
