Image for the poem Growing Numb

Growing Numb

What you get is what you see
What you feel inside
Ain't coming out so easily
Deeply growing
Further falling

Pain spreading like ice
Tears freezing behind your eyes
Numb stealing feelings
Frozen soul
Death desensitizing
Making you cold
Hoarfrost crystallizing
The sweet flowers of your writing

Blotter empty
Ink well bone dry
Emotions
Water colors run
Dripping
Escaping from your tongue

Black is all that's left on the palette
Dark, cold and dense
Be the subject
You horde inside

Weave a mist of something bliss
Grey paints the way
Allow the freezing sunlight
Beam a chilling glow
From your frozen soul

Wanna see your mascara smear
From melting tears
Running down from your eyes
Into pools
Water colors that are freeze dried
Feeling the power of your numbing pain
In every word you've gotta say

I dedicate this to Cassandra (clbishoff)
