Roads

I might bend, but I won't break
The bones under my skin
Are hard and cold
from where I've been
I'll be better someday
But I'm strong enough to take today

I bet you wouldn't know
-- I'm a traveler
But you better believe
My feet will carry me
Where ever I tell them to go

Everyone has walked a road
I don't claim mine to be any more high or low
But what I know
I won't be taking any road
That someone else told me to follow

See, I've had enough of that

I might bend, but I won't break
The bones under my skin
Are hard and cold
From where I've been
I'll be better someday
But I'm strong enough to take today

I bet you only see a pretty face
--when you look at me
Well, I want you to know
I can hold my own
Don't need you to keep me in place

See, I've had enough of that

Everyone has a road to follow
I'll be fine walking mine alone
But don't come after me once I'm gone
It's time we move along
I won't follow any road
Someone else sent me down

See, I've had enough of that

I might bend, but I won't break
The bones under my skin
Are hard and cold
from where I've been
I'll be better some day
But I'm strong enough to take today
