Another Resolution
Another New Years Eve
The count down begins
And I begin to reflect
On the past years sins
Waiting for the moment
Where all cheer loud
I smile but its a lonely moment
I lack what makes many hearts proud
I will kiss a set of lips
Looking them deep into their eyes
I will say the words I love you
All the while masquerading the lies
You will be miles, miles away
Perhaps doing the same
In a moment of honesty
I will take all the blame
Tomorrow is a new day
The beginning of a new year
How many days will I be able to go
Dodging this great fear
You are there and I am here
Every choice becomes more and more true
Except the one I diligently ignore
The one where I'm suppose to be kissing you
My resolution will be to help others
Which often leaves no time for me
Yet this time next year I hope will be different
In the hopes that you'll feel a little less for me.
