I hadn't heard from you in days
then today out of the blue
the phone rang, my stomach fell
when I saw that it was you.
I played off like it didn't matter
but really I was dying
wondering what you'd been doing these days
if you knew I'd been crying?

It's like I could hear you smiling
you'd explained everything
I don't care if it's a lie or not
I just wanted to hear something.
You made a comment
that we talk more than we did before
before I was single again
before I went through the divorce.
It seems like it's okay now
that we can be together...
small town, big mouths, I guess
the stories get around to one another.
You sounded happy though
that we take up so much of each others time
that you always want to talk to me
now I want you to be mine.
For a minute I wasn't sure
maybe I was wasting precious moments
but to feel happy like that so quickly
my mood just changed in seconds.
