Hundreds of Thousands of People

It’s okay that your best just wasn’t good enough.
Imperfection is what made us human, after all.
My dreams are all I have,
the vacation from the haunting truth that is this;
We’re all running scared, deny it or not.
I’ve been digging a grave,
that continues to sink into the earth
With every tooth we lose and abuse,
we are rotting from the inside out.
The world does not have enough meaning
to explain to every single person that begs for an answer.
So subsidize your best wishes, and quit thinking about your own grave.
They’ll bury you without any effort to you at all, and
It isn’t like you’ll be around to apologize after the fact.
Hell is probably where you’ll end up
Depending on how many times you’ve done something for yourself
Because to me, anyway
SIN is just another word to do something you want to do,
that you needed to do at the moment you did it,
And why is that so bad?
So what, you got drunk with your highschool friends,
And you slept with one of them?
Forgiveness shouldn’t be expected for Him.
Just remember that you did it because at the moment you needed to.
Because what happens when you realize your life is a bundle of lies?
Well school may teach you lots of things,
But how to get back on your feet after you’ve hit the edge’s water mark
Well that’s just something no one can ever teach you.
So as I digress, I occasionally pretend that I’m just in another silly dream
Because I’d take the odds that I’ll wake up and forget it in the same day
Over ever remembering that we’re told to never ever make a single mistake
Otherwise you’ll have a Hell of a time trying to get into a place called Heaven,
So yes, excuse me for pretending I am something I’m not.
Excuse me for believing for that one moment that my body isn’t really going to dry up and rot.
