Constellations

Come at me American boy
I sleep to the lullaby of betrayal
crying my laments to the heartless sky
dreaming under smooth cotton folds
of you and i dancing under trees of gold

Goodbye
don't you dare say that word
we're in this together
from now until the day we die

last night I saw the gods paint you
onto the midnight canvas of twinkling lights
amidst the meteor shower
you shown brighter than heaven's light
upon our darkest hour

I will not fear you
dont tell me goodbye
we're in this together
from now until the day we die

dont tell me goodbye
i can still see you in the night sky
the gods gave you to me
I need you like the blind needs sight

last night I saw the gods paint you
onto the midnight canvas of twinkling lights
amidst the meteor shower
you shown brighter than heaven's light
upon our darkest hour

and with the softness of a kiss
the tantalizing burning of our bliss
we danced around Saturn's rings
you held me close before i fell
and woke up screaming your name

your name
