Best Friends Love Grown Stronger

Last night I looked at you
in your to die for green eyes....
You're my best friend
I never question why.
We laugh whenever we're together
I wish I could see you more than this
but its worth it when you even open the door for me
or wow me with your kiss.
We had a couple beers
and drove out in the corn fields
27 degrees outside
but what warmth I could feel.
You held me in your arms
my supposed "best friend"
but I didn't say a damn word
I just didn't want it to end.
You dropped me off a little later
got out and opened my door
You kissed me so sweet
you just made me want you more.

When you drove off
my mind just went crazy
I climbed in to bed
Then what I had to say to you....
� � �I just couldn't put it past me.

I picked up the phone
dialed ur number w/o a second thought
I told you how I really felt
I was surprised what the statement brought.

You said you felt the same way
you were just scared it would end
so until our feelings grew some more
we should just be best friends.

Friends that sleep together?
Friends with benefits?
Its confusing as hell...
but I think I like it.

When we were getting ready
to get off the phone...
You said "honey, you know I love you"
and I said "you're not alone"...

I turned on my side
had a smile on my face
I fell asleep so quickly
and in a very long time
� � � � I was taken to a different place.
