The Thing I Fear
I have never been one
To fear Death's touch
The pain of a knife
When life becomes to much
I fear not the darkness
In which monster's hide
Nor of the betrayer
In whom it is unwise in which to confide
I fear not that which burns and destroys
That deadly touch of fire
I do not fear cheaters
Those oh so clever liars
I do not fear oblivion
The nothingness in which I lose myself
I do not fear a disease which steals my mind
And stacks memories away on some forgotten shelf
I do fear though
The loss of you
I fear the absence of your loving smiles
And the little things you do
Yes I fear nothing my dear
But losing you
To fear Death's touch
The pain of a knife
When life becomes to much
I fear not the darkness
In which monster's hide
Nor of the betrayer
In whom it is unwise in which to confide
I fear not that which burns and destroys
That deadly touch of fire
I do not fear cheaters
Those oh so clever liars
I do not fear oblivion
The nothingness in which I lose myself
I do not fear a disease which steals my mind
And stacks memories away on some forgotten shelf
I do fear though
The loss of you
I fear the absence of your loving smiles
And the little things you do
Yes I fear nothing my dear
But losing you
