I Miss You

I miss you when you're gone.
That tangible void, empty bed;
I wonder who you're talking to,
how you'll spend your night.

Life feels so quiet without you,
distinct lack of conversation;
nobody here to share wine.
You carry on in your world.

When you return, all will be loud
I'll fight to hear myself think;
above brash overflow of male ego.
Instructive can lead to destructive.

Little by little, tempers will flare,
my fantasies will change to that
of blunt objects and sharp knives.
My twisted deadly lullabies.

How I miss you when you're gone.
