The Fall
A stormy day, a cloudy night,
Before you came along,
I lived my life in fright.
A silent sob, a muffled tear,
You raised me from the darkness,
A gift I’ll forever hold most dear.
A joyous laugh, an opened eye,
You promised forever,
And now I can touch the sky.
A mournful day, a stricken scream,
You lied, you died,
This love was just a dream.
An empty soul, a broken heart,
The earth turns grey,
My world is torn apart.
A haunting melody, a lingering love,
New wings of blue, let’s try them out,
Expand them for the journey to Heaven above.
A snicker-snack, a cry of pain,
The demons hurl me down,
My hope has been in vain.
A darkness incarnate, a burning patch of Hell,
I scream till my throat is bloody,
My wings torn away as I fell.
A whispered goodbye, a hope finally lost,
I gave into the light,
And look what it cost…
Before you came along,
I lived my life in fright.
A silent sob, a muffled tear,
You raised me from the darkness,
A gift I’ll forever hold most dear.
A joyous laugh, an opened eye,
You promised forever,
And now I can touch the sky.
A mournful day, a stricken scream,
You lied, you died,
This love was just a dream.
An empty soul, a broken heart,
