THE MADNESS

on october the 6th  a suicide bomber drove a jeep full of explosives into playground of elementary school in small village in northern iraq killing fifteen children, though it got little attention in mainstream media the images i seen on the net  so appalled me i felt compelled to write a poem about it.

the children laughed and the children played
on another crystal clear sunny day
joyous cries filled the air
carefree times that are meant to be

but they did not see nor did not hear
the madness being screamed into the driver ears
as he crashed thru crumbling rusty iron gates
"kill the infidels
kill them all
for our prophet
for our prophet
for our GOD"

some fled in wonder
while others stared in awe
and still the madness screeched
"kill the infidels,
kill them all,
for our prophet
for our prophet
for our God,
just push the button
and let it be
and you'll live with the martyrs
for all eternity on Gods majestic knees"

and so on that day madness had its way.
what words do I have to describe scene,
just the horror, sheer horror of it all
fifteen babies dead is what they said.

how  easy is it for a man to fall?
with bitter lips whispering twisted logic
that poison your world and murder your will
until they cheat you of your soul.

how easy is it for man too fall in love with the abyss?
and to listen to depths of madness that lies within the heart of darkness.
