Medicated Ignorance
So close to me, yet poles apart,
you're united in tortured memories.
You lean on each other,
yet remain isolated;
in a shared insanity.
I cannot pretend to know you well,
for that was many years ago.
When things were happy,
and homes were a lie.
It was another lifetime.
Life's abuses fresh on your tongue;
each day is still lived in the past.
When old pain is kept alive,
systematically it is eroding,
You rot together.
Beautiful minds never seen again,
the senses have now become dulled.
Vitality for life is nevermore,
you bleed away together;
in medicated ignorance.
you're united in tortured memories.
You lean on each other,
yet remain isolated;
in a shared insanity.
I cannot pretend to know you well,
for that was many years ago.
When things were happy,
and homes were a lie.
It was another lifetime.
Life's abuses fresh on your tongue;
each day is still lived in the past.
When old pain is kept alive,
systematically it is eroding,
You rot together.
Beautiful minds never seen again,
the senses have now become dulled.
Vitality for life is nevermore,
you bleed away together;
in medicated ignorance.
