A Letter From Your Daughter

As a small child, I saw you as a hero,
However great a mother could be, you were twice that.
I loved you with all of my heart,
Loved.

As time passed, the words you said to me grew more hurtful and
  violent.
Discipline was your strongest suit
  and you never could back down from a fight.
I used to stand up for you, until I didn't know who I was standing                  
  up for.
Emotionally I was drained and beaten, physically I was bruised;
  I remember when my tears made you laugh,and my suffering was
  better than a 3-D movie (which I know you used to love).
Remember when, you made me lie to my teachers, friends, even my
grandmother?  I guess you needed that money pretty badly, though
  I don't remember what for.
I bet you never thought this ugly, disgusting daughter of yours could write poetry.  You said you've always wanted to read my
  poems, but I
  can tell when you're lying.
I believed all you said for the longest time, considering suicide
  thousands of times; but reading other's stories made me realise something.
        I am nothing you say, because you don't know me.
