the story of you and me
a love that has surpasses a milenia
in a quaint and simple peasant town in Hokkaido met
I my barrettes of gold and silver
my kimono of patterns unending
your apparel made of rice bags
kind words, sweet smile
and eyes...
eyes within which i had seen life
the sweet elixir which avaded those known to me
the substance which gave you the ability
to surpass a mundane body
and keep coming back to me
and come back you did
ah, but what a long wait it had to be
oh how i longed for the days in which
i would escape my world
to join you in yours
if only for a second
you see,
you had that which i desired,
simplicity, that which hid from me.
i longed for the days
when i would sit in your hut
and listen to you play the pipa as i played the biwa
i knew then that without you,
i could not be.
and be i had to,
you left that life early,
he took you from me
and although i wanted to be heartbroken, distraught
sing sonnets to our love lost,
there was work to be done,
a country to run.
so i wasted away in my days , no other man could i see.
until finally ,
i was called upon,
i had to leave.
our second encounter,
although pale in comparison to the first,
still has my heart singing,
singing that hymn which the choir sung
in that small little Guadalajaran church in sweet Mexico
the hallelujah a Dios which danced on the ruffles of my skirt
and gently ran across my lips,
as i beheld the soul which had been my only weakness,
the reason for my existence
i would recognize him anywhere
my love, my companion.
this our second encounter,
with which there was no social hierarchy,
which said who we could or could not be.
for a moment we were happy
until he came,
the mask of his anonymity,
hid his jealous eye filled with murderous intent
he took you from me.
i'm sorry my love,
i severed my ties with that world, that life
if you were not present,
i, did not want to be .
awakened i have been into this life,
nothing,
i swear nothing, will take you from me.
not even he, who is a trespasser on this journey of you and me.
so sit back, my love
and enjoy the ride
buckle your seat belt
and sit tight,
it's not going to be a long drive.
because i'm coming to get you
and soon you will be mine.
