death of the mind

Look at her
Alone, abandoned... a nobody
Where is she going to go? To hide?
How does she keep the watchful eyes that see?
Lost in her purpose, life carries too much weight
Memories take the stage of her subconscious,
She can't see straight, can't think straight.
The darkness of her mind is suffocating,
Screams muffled by closed doors
Hiding away from what the sun might bring
Seeing nothing in fighting for a cause.
She hides in plain sight
Nobody sees the scars and bruises
Inflicted upon her
The future took it's plight
As she hid her heart behind cold, hatred armour
Dreading both sleep and awake,
Wondering what death might bring
Should she stay alive? For who's sake?
Her silence spoke louder than words.
A once outgoing and fun-lover
Breaking down as she silently suffers
And lives with shame, blame and humiliation.
She lost the meaning of her true passion,
Gone are the days when she laughed
When she was strong yet soft
Loved and cared for by those who now abandon her
Darkness, cold and silence is what she now prefers...
