Deathless Revelation
the world feels empty drab and bland
autumn fires burn in black and white
the chilly breeze feels numb against my skin
and motionless in my eyes
the sun doesn't shine on me today
I see its glow across the sky
it does not warm within my shadow
and its rays do not affect my sight
deadened trees stand as corpses of seasons past
the leaves have dried and fallen to the ground
in piles they lay littering the landscape
decaying without a sound
the echo of crushing bones under foot
lifeless death beneath my shoe
deafened by the sorrow within my heart
where my grief has taken root
I look around but I am unable to see
the beauty of nature's reclamation
life becomes death and death breeds life
in a cycle of deathless revelation
I stagger along within my own shadow
unaffected by the elements around me
blind to the sun and numb to the wind
my darkened self is all I see
autumn fires burn in black and white
the chilly breeze feels numb against my skin
and motionless in my eyes
the sun doesn't shine on me today
I see its glow across the sky
it does not warm within my shadow
and its rays do not affect my sight
deadened trees stand as corpses of seasons past
the leaves have dried and fallen to the ground
in piles they lay littering the landscape
decaying without a sound
the echo of crushing bones under foot
lifeless death beneath my shoe
deafened by the sorrow within my heart
where my grief has taken root
I look around but I am unable to see
the beauty of nature's reclamation
life becomes death and death breeds life
in a cycle of deathless revelation
I stagger along within my own shadow
unaffected by the elements around me
blind to the sun and numb to the wind
my darkened self is all I see
