Contemporary Civility

Rain from a broken mantle
Feeds the fire,
Tickling realizations
painting space between fingertips,
All amounting to justice and reward
Like the clouds have not wept
And the earth has not shaken –
There is no need to fear.

Death is not in individuals,
It claims races
Species,
Honorable intentions
Preserving for a greater cause.

There is warmth in a core that is struggling.
Life fading
Where eyes wide open –
Do not see.

The eye has faded in stitches
Surrounded by collected weights –
Where the beat between heaven and earth
Flat-lines in an attempt for attention

Have you guarded your ideals?
Have you swept over the fundamentals
Bowstring pulled taught for the kill?

Caution polarity,
Waylaid by the side of contemporary civility
In providences that know little of demand.
The food of this station,
Brick encased rage
Sits back and watches
As you skip towards broken doors
Covered in welcomes.
