Music Box Waves
The world has set about my shoulders
Kneeled between waves of white
Where the sky has crowned the horizon in pink blushes
Acknowledging the dying of the light
There’s one lone jewel in this topped sky
That sits encrusted up on high
Observing below, the beaten land
To this plot of trials in which I stand
I have stitched the sea together
With grains of sand between my toes
A music box I open wide
To store away all my woes
They’ll sing about the fireside
Whisper secrets with the tide
I’ll lay them out between the rocks
And walk away to be forgot
I’ll watch the rolls of white topped space
Until the salt my veins infuse,
I’ll absorb this purple sky upon my skin
Like a heaven kissed bruise.
Belonging wraps like a shadowed friend
Regret fills as this trip meets its end
Smoke will follow me on the wind
As the music of my soul with miles dims
Kneeled between waves of white
Where the sky has crowned the horizon in pink blushes
Acknowledging the dying of the light
There’s one lone jewel in this topped sky
That sits encrusted up on high
Observing below, the beaten land
To this plot of trials in which I stand
I have stitched the sea together
With grains of sand between my toes
A music box I open wide
To store away all my woes
They’ll sing about the fireside
Whisper secrets with the tide
I’ll lay them out between the rocks
And walk away to be forgot
I’ll watch the rolls of white topped space
Until the salt my veins infuse,
I’ll absorb this purple sky upon my skin
Like a heaven kissed bruise.
Belonging wraps like a shadowed friend
Regret fills as this trip meets its end
Smoke will follow me on the wind
As the music of my soul with miles dims
