Long Distance Relationship

It's been a while since we've last exchanged words,
I thought we had lost touch,
Emotions pour out my soul,
If I were a dramatic man I'd pour them into a song,
But the sun is still rising and I have yet to find a place to call home.

Righteous it may be,
The distance created was because of me,
Casting a shadow on the old and taking shape of the new,
I constantly struggle finding something to replace you,
The world was our playground and we were just kids,
Taking after our parents is what we did,
We soon realized it wasn't what we wanted.

We sang songs and wrote letters,
200 miles have never felt so close,
A warmth embrace; something I'm not afraid to call "hope"

All this wishing and praying for a better days,
Made our forms of communication go astray,
We can't say there was a time were the clocks held the time.

Years later and we've been lead to believe that we're doing fine,
I miss you and I love you,
What I feel for you is not easy to find,
And after these four years there's nothing I'd like more than to rewind.

Alas, I'm alone my dear.
Death has come swiftly and it's only been a year.
My heartaches and it breaks with the passing days.
My dreams force me too believe my lover is still here.
Unfortunately my dreams are as close as I'll ever get to you,
Somehow my sickness leads me to believe we're on getting closer.
