Gone Girl
Sweet and serene, with a hint of horror
She walks with a grace, above a grave of sorrow
Two steps, four steps, closer to the end
Some believe she is gone, some believe she is still here
Then there is the ones who know, who know she still walks, she was never gone
The ones who knew of her, the soft sweet kind one
The ones who knew her most, a secret never worth keeping
The ones closest to her, they never would have see it coming
She held that secret close and dear to her, never seeing the consequence
The one who loved her more than anything, shamed by never knowing, never seeing
They all never saw it to be real, never saw that it would really happen
The beeping sound continues, is it worth watching
Fading in and out, one beep, two, ten, sixteen
She lays motionless on a bed of soft white, a snow white with no love
The color fades from her face, yet she still breathes, slowly
A slow and hesitant breath released, one more closer to an end they fear
Strong and tall she walked the hall, her friends never saw
A depression growing stronger and longer throughout her soul, like vines
Haunted and sorrowful it grew, day by day, hour by hour, seconds wasted
Darker and darker the tunnel got, until they no longer saw her
Another step away from reality, to the path of unknown
The beeps got louder as they wait, the ticking of the clock counting down each one
Another and another, she fights a second more, every time a fear strikes of no more
Patience, endurance, a time fit for none
How did it happen, how did the events come together, it is in the mind of them all
One by one, they check to see shes still there, until the one last breath
One beep, two beeps, three and four, up until there was no more
Panic and the last beep lingers, a heart now silenced
Rushing, running, but no one can save, a time to its end
Fatally young she pulled her action, more to come that never came
A harmless mind pulled from the living, a knife by its side
All in black they line up, a ceremony of the unforgivable
Words are spoken but no one hears, just the emptiness surrounding their hearts
A tear shed, another falls, guilt builds up, the casket falls
Down and down, under the ground, the last glimpse of the body now gone
How had they never seen such a fate await
Questions haunt for the ones who are gone, never knowing what was to come
Never to be seen walking down the halls, heads drawn down
One last step taken, a fall, a heart now gone
All wait alone, seconds turn to minutes, hours, days
The eyes never meet, sorrow holds them lowered, guilt takes a tole, on those who care the most
She walks with a grace, above a grave of sorrow
Two steps, four steps, closer to the end
Some believe she is gone, some believe she is still here
Then there is the ones who know, who know she still walks, she was never gone
