Soffit Part I

There's fire and a picket fence, covering tracks and nothing much
The feeling only comes around when you let it touch you
And the hawser you've been hanging onto, it's getting shorter
And the bridge you've been walking upon, it's a chivalry

The dawn will surpass the rain
Soffit of a softer home-drawn tent
Grunting from all the pain
This winter's been so discontent
Our lovely ground gets veneer after a long day

And the bridge you've been walking upon, it's a chivalry
