❄ Winter Paradise ❄
The reflection
of snow covered trees
rest calmly
on the icy pond.
A white wonderland
glittering peacefully,
like a blanket
covering the world.
Snowflakes,
shimmering like diamonds
as they gently float
from the grey clouds above.

sorry, but i don't get the diamond-like reference about the snowflakes in the last stanza. snow may glitter in the sun when it's on the ground and hard like ice, but i don't recall ever seeing falling snowflakes shimmer.
um..how is the snow that's on the ground glittering if there are grey clouds blocking the amount of sun necessary to produce the effect? i don't recall ever seeing snow on the ground glittering on a grey winter day. i'm not sure actually if there would be a reflection on a pond on a grey winter day. i've been to ponds, but can't remember whether the ice was ever reflecting or not--but i seem to remember it always being more frosted rather than mirror-like whenever i saw it frozen over. maybe you've seen otherwise.

Shimmer means twinkle and glitter, right? Diamonds shine and twinkle too so I just compared it.
How would the snow glitter if it's a grey winter day? Good question to ponder about. Maybe the grey clouds are thin enough for the sun to shine through and make the snow glitter? Maybe the snow glittered before the grey clouds came? And I've seen snow glitter in grey skies before. In a large area covered in 1+ feet of snow. So trust me it's possible! Same thing as an icy pond. If the ice is just right you can see a reflection on it, it's just like glass.

yes, the imagery is beautiful and the tone is very approrpriate to the idea of "Winter Paradise," but i still think there may be too many glaring things that need to be reconsidered as i mentioned above.

about your copyright notice--your 2011 is missing a 1. anyway, it's really not necessary to post it, but you may have your reasons. um..i may still put little bits of your poems in quotation marks when commenting on them, yes?

Just fixed that. I put a copyright because I worry about my poems, and because I literally did publish and got a copyright on all my poems.
Literally hundreds of people has read and reviewed my poems and copying does happen, I don't want it to happen to me. So I got them copyrighted.
