Birdhouse

I'd like to go to a place where I'm allowed to make some noise
Please teach me whatever it is that you do to let go so quickly
Always there but not when I need you
If you suffer then don't love anyone

I built a sanctuary birdhouse for you
Since you're a bird that won't fly
Your skin is bittersweet

I wasn't enough smart to keep you around
And maybe you didn't have to leave
You could've stayed a little longer
We all know how it feels to love and to lose
Things would be so much easier if you didn't have to lose to know what you love

Your skin is bittersweet
