An Elegant Cemetery (Part 2)
You shed me like a cloak, As if I had hidden you away
I clung to you like a cloak, As if you had hidden me away
You ran from me like a sheep, As if I had hunted you down
I fled from you like a sheep, As if you had hunted me down
A year gone by, A grave filled, A cemetery given elegance
Rain cascades, Shovels hit dirt, A grave-robber in search
Metal hits wood, Flashlight hits flesh, A quest ended
Decaying hearts reach into the sky, Towards the beginning we created
You deserved a burial fit for the gods, A goddess in my eyes
My heart bows to what my body never could, I’ve been so numb
Forgive me, My queen, My obsession holds me ever so still
Your throne remains, It is my temple that crumbles away
