Tears On The Parchment

(this is actually written for my wife who is suffering with a shattered foot and long recovery time. She reads my stuff all the time so please wish her well on her troubled road.  )

By the stars above, why is this her fate?
To be constantly reminded
In dreams,  when she wakes.
Just one little reprieve!
What a cruel torment, demons in the room
They smile with blooded gleaming lips
Under candle's gloom.
'Til her corpse swings in trees.

The tears are falling again
For a life in sorrow made from sin
Shouted curses and whispered secrets from a pen!

Those days still linger, lashings of the tongue
For visions of her chosen path,
So her fate is hung
In breeze to sway with leaves.
The crescent moon shines upon her pale skin,
This vision of your only child
Gutted by your pins.
But will you even grieve?

The tears are falling again
For a life in sorrow made from sin
Shouted curses and whispered secrets from a pen
Dipped in the ink from her eyes
Tears to the parchment, the words they cry
For a life filled with torments and lingering lies.

Deep in the shadows
Secrets are betrayed.
Of once in the snow
Where she once lay.
Ocean in the breeze
Where fate kissed her.
Jealous ears hear
Her secret whispers.

The tears are falling again
For a life in sorrow made of sin
Shouted curses and whispered secrets from a pen
Dipped in the ink from her eyes
Tears on the parchment, the words they cry
For a life filled with torments and lingering lies.
