I Think of You

I wash down the tables
and turn off the lights
stare out the window
wondering if you might...

Might have driven past
see me talking and laughing..
wondering what I was doing
what kind of fun I'm having...

With out you now
taking up my day
thinking about you all the time
what'd happen if I'd stayed?

and listen to you play me more
tell me all sorts of stories
swoop me up in your arms
pretend your in your glory.

Then lay me down on your bed
whisper in my ear
tell me how you feel so good
and it's good to have me here.

Driving me home we'll laugh
I'll kiss you good bye on your cheek
wave as you pull out of the drive
knowing I'll see you in a few weeks.

But that's it..no more
a little talk just here and there
we laugh a little then argue some more
about what's for us in the future.

I know we're pushing each other
it's both too soon for us
but I know I care for and want you
what we have is tough.

So for now I'll drop the blinds
lock the doors, walk to my car
stare down the road into an empty town
and up to a sky filled with stars.

Now I wonder where YOU are
if you've got your phone in your hand
waiting for that call or text from me..
I'll never know, and I'll never understand.
