The Chick
In the night it wandered alone
I noticed its small and tender shape
Death had plans for this young small thing
Morbid pain is what he'd bring
I may be dark and have little care
but my lady smiled and said
"Be FAIR.."
Rescue the chick and We'll nurture it till age
We called her Topaz the yellow sage.
Its heart beat rapid against my thumb
as we walked the path home,
THROMB THROMB THROMB
Two legged creatures stopped and smirked
mistaking my compassion for weakness...
mistaking me for weakness...
I analized the situation in my head
and realized any two ways this chick was dead
If I carried her home, my dogs be fed
If I left her to roam she'd enter death's bed
I did the only thing i thought "Humane"
and I abandoned my Topaz
I guess I am INSANE
As I looked back and she stood still
I saw beyond her eyes
saw the Demons closing in,
plotting her DEMISE...
She stood and shook...
Only then as I continued on without my chick
did i soon realise i was such a DICK.....
I noticed its small and tender shape
Death had plans for this young small thing
Morbid pain is what he'd bring
I may be dark and have little care
