One Mistake

Click,click bang
Pulled the trigger
He falls to the ground
Blood runs out like a waterfall
Body twitching a spasm
Eyes blank stare at the sky
One more life slips into the night
Falling to my knees I bow my head
Tears in my eyes this murderer
One second, one mistake I made
Hope faded away as I pulled it
Unsure of why he had to die
Didn't want to head to the fires
So I took away his life
Blood seeps into cracks over stone
Still, lifeless body lays facing the moon
Tears of pain run down my eyes
Sorrow screams escape my lips
Why did I do this
How can I take away his life
Tomorrow the sun won't shine
Behind these bars of fate
Lying hidden away for life
I took his life, now they take mine
Sirens off in the distance coming closer
Bowing my head I wait for them to come
To take me away in my life of sin
