So you think you’re in and settled, and the job is yours at last
No problem doing shifts and, all your worries in the past

At last you’re earning money, and your bills can now be paid
No sleepless nights of worrying, no need to feel afraid

You’ve got your brand new safety shoes, a locker for your stuff
But the company won’t protect you, when everything gets tough

You’re vulnerable and on your own, you may have been selected
When things go wrong and you get blamed, you need to be protected

We hope that you will join us, and be a member proud
It’s all for one and one for all, within our union crowd

There are benefits in sickness, in injury and death
We’ll help support and train you, until our dying breath

Together we are stronger, and our policies are sound
Your thoughts and contributions, through our conferences are found

You’ll want to ask some questions, well answer all we can
Our union is its members, every woman every man

We care about the workplace, conditions and the pay
Shop stewards are your contacts, when procedures go astray

No matter where you’re working, the system is the same
You’re simply an employee, with a number and a name
