WARRIOR'S DEATH
My path is laid before me,
But is forked, left to right.
One of clear skies
And one of mist,
Which will lead me
To my rest?
Odin, I pray to you,
In your wisdom,
Show me the way
So I may stay
On the right track.
You suffered for me
So I beg you suffer
My ignorance.
I seek only to find
My way to your hall
And await the day
Of Ragnarök.
Where I may fight
By the side
Of the Gods
And die
My warrior’s death.
But is forked, left to right.
One of clear skies
And one of mist,
Which will lead me
To my rest?
Odin, I pray to you,
In your wisdom,
Show me the way
So I may stay
On the right track.
You suffered for me
So I beg you suffer
My ignorance.
I seek only to find
My way to your hall
And await the day
Of Ragnarök.
Where I may fight
By the side
Of the Gods
And die
My warrior’s death.

I can relate to the feeling of having a purpose; having something meaningful to die for in this world of plastic and chicken nuggets. I like the accompanying picture as well.

I'm going through some stuff where I could use some major guidance so this really hits home for me. Thank you for reading.

Well HR, I also was going through alot of things in my life a few years ago, and i know how you feel with your words of thoughts.
Here is one way that I used my path of life and where it is leading me.
Pathway to the Known or Unknown
Life leads us all to the path roads in which we need to decide would on is the right one to take.
Those decisions are hard for us to decide or make.
Each and every day we make decisions that are good and bad.
They can make us happy or sad.
This is where we pray and ask for Him guidance,
And we no longer take an absent minded absence.
The right route down the right pat h we will go,
As we follow him down the path that leads to an everlasting glow.
So it comes down to the time to decide to the road of the unknown.
Or follow him to the everlasting life and having faith in Him will lead us to what already is known.

Did you ever Serve in the Miltary and if you did you could turn a spin of this poem that could open up a whole statement of being strong for the our freedoms.

Well that is okay, I was just using your idea for being a warrior, and how a Marine or Soldier are always ready to fight and do not want to die, but will be ready if they have too.
I spent over 20 yrs in the Service as a Marine, and I almost died and I am glad that I believe in Christ, because he saved my life.

I also am glad that he brought me from my days of depression and to a better life.

Warrior Death
It is hard not to know what lies before me
Causing me to be always alert on the from my left to my right of me
I hope not to stumble or fall
Because it is not time to hear the Lord's call
Will I survive or will I be laid down to rest
Either way I am ready to for the test
Because I know my place
And that is because I am not ready to see those Pearly Gates
Even if the Lord tells me to take my last breath
I will known as a Warrior even after my Death
It is hard not to know what lies before me
Causing me to be always alert on the from my left to my right of me
I hope not to stumble or fall

So quotes of Sun Tzu came to mind when I read this; one of my favorites ...
Regard your soldiers as your children, and they will follow you into the deepest valleys; look on them as your own beloved sons, and they will stand by you even unto death. - Sun Tzu
Men rarely die for their country, they die for those that lead them; and those they've left behind ... Your ink is a great tribute as to how they'd choose to die.
Bravo!

I seriously never thought of Sun Tzu or his writings. But to be compared, even briefly, is a great honor. Thank you, my friend. A true hero is who, willingly, forges ahead into certain death for something he/she believes in or loves. There is no greater sacrifice.
