Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi
What's it mean to be Australian,
This land thats girt by sea.
So this is my definition of what it means to me.
It's freedom of speech without fear of consequence, as we're a democracy.
It's remembering the fallen who gave their lives, brothers in arms, fighting for this great country.
It's watching fireworks on Australia Day and enjoying the celebration.
It's having a flutter on the Melbourne cup, the race that stops the nation.
At 3pm, on the first Tuesday in November.
It's watching the AFL grand final on that one day in September.
It's waking up sundy arvo and not being able to remember.
Drinking so much beer, like you owned a bloody brewery.
It's trying your very best, not be selected on a jury.
It's helping out those in need, when Mother Nature unleashes her fury.
It's a hot pie at the footy while cheering your team on.
It's booing the opposition every time they do something wrong.
It's seeing the first ball bowled on Boxing Day, it's a one dayer, it's Boony and Warnie.
It's sitting there with 100,000 people
cheering the Aussies on at the MCG.
Its Sydney harbour bridge the oprah house, Great Barrier Reef and Uluru.
It's wombats, dingoes, platypus, kookaburra's and old man emu.
Its goanna's, possum's, koala's, tassie devils and the boxing kangaroo.
It's the top end salty's, Red Back spiders, deadly snakes and the blue ringed occy's.
It's ducking down the milk bar in ur flannie or your moccies.
It's bbq's in the park, it's drop bears after the dark, it's gum trees and paper bark, it's paddling faster than your mate, when chased by a great white shark.
It's Red Tuesday, Ash Wednesday, Black Thursday, Friday and Black Saturday.
It's cyclones Larry, Mahina, Nancy, Ada, yasi and Tracy.
It's the Eureka Stockade, Threadbo it's the Boxing Day tsunami.
It's the Westgate and Tassie bridge,
It's 9/11 and the terrorist attacks in Bali.
It's standing together side by side, when faced with tragedy.
It's JO'K, Aca Daca, Kylie Minogue and Barnesy.
It's thongs, speedos, bonds singlets and the good old Sunday roast.
It's going to the beach for a swim or a surf it's driving along the coast.
It's waking up with coffee and vegemite on toast.
It's the ability to shorten any word and to handball any failure.
It's the laid back and easy going attitude of most people in Australia.
The great southern land is for us all to enjoy, each one of us is her custodian.
It's treating her with the respect she deserves as we are Australian.
Its It's hitching the caravan, pitching a tent and checking out all the amazing places.
Most of all it's being tolerant and accepting of all creeds, colours and races.
Instead of having car stickers that read "Fuck Off we're Full".
They should read,
"Fuck Off if your Racist".
This land thats girt by sea.
