Anyone who breaks the stem & tramples the buds of a 'proud [& beautiful] iris' will - in the greater scheme of things - be trampled on in return. I believe in a kind of universal compensation scheme. A Karmic debt so to speak.
Great write. I love the flower metaphor & the middle line is terrific. Hope this sad write is fiction. If not, there's the consolation that the storms of life do eventually pass. Take good care dear Iris, my friend. :-) xo

Dear Carlene, thank you so much for the wonderful and insightful comment. You are so right, we have to answer for what we do, some time. And if it's not vengeance which someone takes, it's surely a debt we have to pay. Everything's balanced somehow. xo

Although the tenor's sad,
the stem will recover,
though the buds ...
Thank you, dart!

Beautiful Miss C..reading between the lines can feel the strength returning. an air of independence and the sarcasm in the broken faith...I love it! the full picture with just 14 words. Damn fine write! :)

Thank you so much, nopoetiknow *blush* ... I'm glad you like it and although it's only 14 words it's at least 17 syllables which tell the "story". The Japanese are famous for haikus! Perhaps its my blood group, predominantly for asian people, that makes me so fond of them :-).
