"Don't Fall"
He says
"Don't fall in love with me
Because I don't think I can
Love you back"
Fair enough.
But there's so much more
Love is not what I need
What I need
What I want
Is of a different color than love
I hunger for his words
Lengthy stories sewn together
With wild gestures and fantastical imagery
Places I've never seen, touched, or breathed in
But can somehow fathom details
Understanding the twists and turns
Nodding
Smiling
As the story unfolds
I find myself engrossed in his words
Wanting to absorb every syllable
That leaves his mouth
"Don't fall in love with me
Because I don't think I can
Love you back"
Fair enough.
But there's so much more
Love is not what I need
What I need
What I want
Is of a different color than love
I hunger for his words
Lengthy stories sewn together
With wild gestures and fantastical imagery
Places I've never seen, touched, or breathed in
But can somehow fathom details
Understanding the twists and turns
Nodding
Smiling
As the story unfolds
I find myself engrossed in his words
Wanting to absorb every syllable
That leaves his mouth
