It's Been A While

It's been a while since I have smiled this much.
It's been a while since I have had this much fun and such.
I'm thankful for everyone that ever brought me down.
I'm thankful for everyone that treated me like a clown.

All the times that I was sad and depressed makes me enjoy right now.
All the times that I almost drowned.
The bad times make the happy times better.
Slowly falling as if I'm a feather.

I think that you may all know that I'm not the girl that I used to be.
I'm now the real me.
It's been a while since I let her out.
It's been a while since I wasn't full of doubt.

I'm so happy that I could just scream and shout.
I have reached the end of that depressing drought.
He brought out my loving and playful side.
He brought out all the feelings that I hide deep inside.

I thank him for the happiness that he has brought on.
It's been a while since I held on this long.
It's been a while since I fell asleep with a smile on my face.
It's been a while since everyone didn't look upon me as a disgrace.

I wish that everyone was this happy.
I wish that everyone could always be sappy.
It's been a while since I helped someone the way I want to.
It's been a while, but I'm here to do what I have to do.
