When we were young

When we were young we had no cares
Only a bully at school could make us scared
There were no worries about earning money
All we cared about was what we thought was funny
We didn't have stress about paying bills
We were just out looking for the next thrill
Remember sleeping in all summer then going out to play?
I can't express how much I miss those days
I miss being free, miss not having worries
As I get older, my memories become blurry
But there are always ones you never forget
Ones that were without a doubt your best times yet
Now we are slaves to the man working day and night
Coming home late from the office acting all uptight
First 18 years of my life preparing me that this is the real world
And it's a struggle to survive.
I may not have money saved cause I love paycheck to paycheck
But at least I live my life.
