mimic life
Stripped down and simplified
To the raw and bleeding core
Tired, immoble
Like an over-fattened mule
And so I find myself stuck
Glued to the same old situation
Stagnated with bored indifference
Between my aimless wandering,
and my endless standing still,
You would think I'd know the way by now
Yet I remain here open-eyed
Without what it takes to see
Spinning like a window pane on a string
Trying to capture
the ghost of a reflection
Of life going on all around me.
To the raw and bleeding core
Tired, immoble
Like an over-fattened mule
And so I find myself stuck
Glued to the same old situation
Stagnated with bored indifference
Between my aimless wandering,
and my endless standing still,
You would think I'd know the way by now
Yet I remain here open-eyed
Without what it takes to see
Spinning like a window pane on a string
Trying to capture
the ghost of a reflection
Of life going on all around me.
