the truth of it

The way you came into my life
Confusing and unexpected
On the day in June your mother
Gave news that she was pregnant

I was shocked
It took my mind in a pragmatic portion
Because 6 months earlier
Your brother or sister died of abortion
There ain't no money or stability
To raise no kids
The cost of being young and dumb so it is what it is
You made me grow
You still teach me lessons for what that's worth
What I didn't want for you was to be like me
Constantly trying but failing,
Not trying hard enough,
Struggling, wondering,
But God blesses everything worth while
And he's always your right shoulder
You were given the best of me and your mom
I wish I had the courage to be more like you
I guess you are the re-birth
