In Her Place
You rolled over to my side,
Almost frantic at the realisation that I wasn't there
But I was there, love
I'm here
Drenched in your sweet scent of strawberries
Filled with the passionate drops of kisses you sifted in me
My small but fragile arm resting on your chest
Feeling the silently loud beat of your heart
That heart with a ruptured soul
of a thousand dead men
My head on the pillow of your arm
Scanning the very movement of your sleeping face
Noticing that smirk that comes so often when I lay here with you
Hoping it's my fault,
That I'm the cause
But dear, the name you call out is not my own
It's that of the soul yours died with,
In unison, a long time ago
Almost frantic at the realisation that I wasn't there
But I was there, love
I'm here
Drenched in your sweet scent of strawberries
Filled with the passionate drops of kisses you sifted in me
My small but fragile arm resting on your chest
Feeling the silently loud beat of your heart
That heart with a ruptured soul
of a thousand dead men
My head on the pillow of your arm
Scanning the very movement of your sleeping face
Noticing that smirk that comes so often when I lay here with you
Hoping it's my fault,
That I'm the cause
But dear, the name you call out is not my own
It's that of the soul yours died with,
In unison, a long time ago

I'm deeply sorry at the loss of your beloved, but also truly sad that u had to go thru such a loss. I hope that u are well now, & have been able to love again. Yet with the memory of ur beloved. Thank you for your kind words...my heart ached at your struggle. I wrote this in a way that it could go both ways, depending on what memory it triggers in you. I'm more than happy that it did that (I hope in a positive way) for you. <3

There's no shame in crying for the one you loved. Shedding these tears is for all these years. I wrote something , but it needs to be gone over again. Please do keep well *xxx

I think you're on the right track,Theo.
It reminds me of these lyrics,"Your body's here with me,but your mind is on the other side of town..."
A story of one who's still in love with his old flame and you're just there as a distraction... Sort of. It's heartbreaking. I really enjoyed it. (:

You relived the dream so well, I almost thought I was there. It must have been nerve-wrecking but also breathtaking. Thank you Amanecio :)
