Beautiful

A long long time ago, in the only galaxy we know of as
inhabited, on the only planet that we’ve ever known to possess life, there is a
race of beings known as humans. Like most species, these humans strive to
procreate, to pass on their genetics through generations. This primal urge does
have its stipulations, however, the most prominent being attraction.
Attractiveness, beauty, whatever you want to call it, has always played a part
in the procreation process. Women, until only recently, have been viewed mostly
objectively. They were seen as being there to birth and raise children (though
that’s not the only thing they can raise. pow) and giving them any rights
seemed ludicrous. Since the first man ever took power, women have been putting
themselves through hell to meet man’s standards. Now, with equal rights coming
into play, men are starting to see what it’s like to walk in the ladies shoes
(sometimes literally, but that’s a different story).Once women started being
seen as people rather than objects, things got a bit different, but one thing
stayed the same. It’s something we see in any species that mate, and it plays a
part in everyone’s lives. Attraction, there’s that word again. A word that
seems so bland, yet has the power to make or break a relationship in a
heartbeat. In order to be “chosen,” you’ve got to stand out. Women have always
had to do that, men just recently had that burden placed on them. Nonetheless, we
all strive, subconsciously or otherwise, to attract potential mates. Fashion
never stops changing, and we’ve got to change with it, or we’ll all end up as
lonely cat ladies (or cat gentlemen, if you prefer). Thankfully, with the
availability of mass media, we’re able to keep an eye on it more readily. Now
when the corset and powdered wig come back into action, we’ll be ready. I know
I’ve already got my wig good to go.
All wigs aside, the fashion industry is serious business.
Without doing any research, because citing sources is way too much trouble, I’d
say that fashion makes some big money annually. Profit margin on clothes is
pretty intense, and they steady be selling clothes. I mean on average, there’s
four seasons in a year (three of them are summer if you’re from the south)
hence there are four fashions seasons a year. That means, if you’re part of the
population that is trendy, every three months or so, you’re buying new clothes.
For the rest of us, there are always thrift stores, but that’s not the point.
The point is, fellow earthlings, we spend a lot of money on clothes and trying
to find people to take them off. That’s sex, by the way. Money and sex. That’s
what I’m talking about here. They’re a pretty big deal. If cash rules
everything around me, sex rules everything else.
Sex, of course, is everywhere. We see it in the magazines,
on billboards, on the internet, on the television, on the internet, even on the
internet. What we never see, however, are ugly people doing it. Because, as far
as America
is concerned, ugly people don’t do it. Are you ugly? Don’t do it. Or at least
don’t put it on the internet. If you strive to get laid, you best get paid, and
you also should probably look pretty great. That kind of rhymes, that way you
won’t have trouble remembering it and you’ll stop asking me why you never get
yours.
