Punished
Are you really going to punish me
For telling you the truth
The truth you say you always wanted
I guess you can’t handle it
But you can handle his abuse
Taking advantage of you
The money you make from your job
I know he stays home
Just to watch the kids
I respect that, I really do
I’ve been there
Understand the need
But sacrifices have to be made
And he’s not willing
You’ve left him once
That time he choked you
Locked you in the house
Took him back
Forgiveness is fine
A necessity in life
Especially with a baby involved
Four years you’ve
Been working on it
This relationship of yours
He left again
A glimpse of hope
That you might see
How he really brings you down
No, not emotionally
But financially
Saying you won’t let him back
He wasn’t gone half a day
Before he was back in the house
Four years to work it out
If nothing changes
Nothing changes
You can’t move on
It won’t get better
All I did was point that out
And now
I've lost you
someone I loved so much
How long must I be punished
For being completely honest
Frustrated with hearing it
Over and over
The same problems
The same bitches
For four fucking years
No advice you’d take
From me
From anyone
I’m the bad guy
Girl I guess, really
Because I just said
What everyone else is thinking
Wishing you’d shut the fuck up
Stop your fucking complaining
When you’re not willing to make
Any of the needed changes
Or listen to the truth

Just that if he hasn’t made any attempt
To change his ways
And neither have you

This colleague of mine,she's a 42-year-old waitron,works like a dog just so that she can make enough money for both her and her unemployed fiancè. Even when she's sick to the bone she comes to work. And all her efforts are flushed down the toilet because the fiancè spends it like there's no tomorrow 'cause he knows that she'll work even harder to make more money. And us waitrons don't even earn that much.
I honestly don't see why you have to be viewed as the bad guy when you were only trying to help.

Thank you. She works her butt off, and she's always been a hard worker, but she pays all his court fees and pays for cigarettes that he won't sacrifice. They're always "treating" themselves instead of paying their bills first. She wasn't that way before him. It's hard to watch. She's the same. She'll work even harder to provide. He knows what he has and won't let it go like your friend's fiance.

It truly is painful to watch. It's as if they can't see that they deserve better. Love is blind and any relationship,whether it's marriage or just a long-term thing,seems to be an institution for the blind.
