Silence and Darkness in Day

You take a breath and make a choice, you don't have to be alone
You can hear another voice, no longer on your own
Maybe this will be different, this time will be okay
Maybe you don't have to listen, to silence and darkness in day

Start to think there is a chance, start to let it in
Dare to dream and dare to dance, dare to think you'll win
Ignore the evidence before, ignore each past event
Because this is something more, this is a different friend

Send guards away and drop your walls, sell your darkest secrets
Watch your heart as it falls, and you no longer see it
Make the stupid choice to care, so you won't be alone
Because this one is so rare, a diamond in a stone

Finally let someone else care, relax an inch in your life
They may not always be there, but at least they want to try
Start to believe each word, start to think there's hope
First, second, and third, each sight tightens the rope

Then suddenly you're cut free, falling so fast you're stunned
You keep blinking but you don't see, too late it's already done
This time is just like every other, nothing will ever change
Why did you dare to bother, you won't escape these chains

The darkness will always find you, and pull you back beneath
And no matter what you try to do, you'll only reach defeat
This is your life forever, it's time you accepted your fate
Nothing will ever get better, so stop the endless wait

You're destined to be left alone, destined to be forgotten
Left behind and a frozen stone, sinking to the bottom
So fade away into the dark, lose yourself to to me
I'll erase every mark, I will set you free

You'll be trapped within yourself, but you won't feel a thing
You'll never need another's help, you'll even want to sing
Reality will disappear, you'll live in other worlds
You'll see danger and fear, drown in gems and pearls

You'll be mine forever, I'll never let you go
I'll make everything better, make the darkness glow
You will never want to leave, as you fall even deeper
And forever you will be, your own keeper
