Misunderstood
When they look at me they see a teenager with an attitude problem.
They see all my faults,all my flaws and all my weaknesses.
What they do not see is how their life decisions have affected me,
How their ignorance has damaged me;
And how their inability to acknowledge their own faults has turned me against them.
They do not see all the tears that roll down my face.
They can not see past this happy-go-lucky facade that I have managed to master over the years.
All my pain along with the secrets of my world do not exist to them
Because all they see is a teenager with an attitude problem.
I want them to be parents that do not just hear me,but listen.
Those that do not believe me when I say, "I'm fine" when it is evident that I'm not.
Those that will offer me a shoulder to cry on instead of dismissing me.
And those that will try to understand me instead of labeling me as a teenager with an attitude problem.
They see all my faults,all my flaws and all my weaknesses.
What they do not see is how their life decisions have affected me,
How their ignorance has damaged me;
And how their inability to acknowledge their own faults has turned me against them.
