I could be you.

Just try it. You’ll like it.
I wouldn’t like any of that, thank you though.
Come on, just a bite.
No, man!  It looks gross. I know what I like and what I don’t like. And, that’s not it!
How do you know if you like or don’t like something you’ve never tried? That’s like saying I don’t like instruments because you have never heard the elegant sound of a piano or cello weaving its way through you internal organs.
Whatever, I’m not tasting it.  That’s the end of it.
You would be that person!
Excuse me?
You know, that person that’s patiently sitting.
Sitting where?
Life’s waiting room. You’re always peering through the glass, watching as the crowds go about their day.  Wondering when it will be your turn.
I’m not that person!
Oh, but you are. That’s exactly who you are. I mean you are afraid of taking a bit of this because it looks or sounds unappetizing. Think of it like this; you take the bite and you don’t like it, or perhaps, for some unidentified and absolutely wild reason you may end up enjoying it.
What’s your point?
I guess the point is that you could have done something, something new; something you clearly decided was out of the question, probably even before I asked you to engage yourself in this present moment. It was so simple you could have experienced something new; but you choose like you often do to just sit in that waiting room, watching, and wishing, and praying to be like all those people that seem to be doing something. There are two types of people in this world.
Two types huh?
Yes Two. Those that suffer from an overabundance of life and those those suffer from a lack of it. Do yourself a favor and don’t sit. Don’t observe. Stop wishing. Do yourself a favor, don’t be afraid to try something new.
Whatever man, I was just trying to help your homeless ass out with a few dollars. You don’t even know me. I was just on my way to work and seen you with your little cardboard sign. I thought I was doing something nice, but you know what fuck it. Have a nice day.
