Damn eyes wide open don't know how long its been
Like i received my heart im the girl made of tin
Opened up to a new world far away from sin
Like melody receiving her new set of fins
Never felt the way I feel rite now but I'm breathing
Part of the real world no longer dreaming
Now I have something to believe in
Its like I'm coming back to life

I am cursed with a brain that remembers songs with just about every other poem I read here. Such is the case here; this takes me back to a song by Shawn Colvin called, "Something To Believe In".

This is the first poem I have read on here, just joined, and I like this...has a nice delivery of coming out of one of life's dark tunnels and seeing things clearly for the first time in awhile...a new light, positive outlook? I enjoyed this :-)
